When someone we care about is struggling, our first instinct is often to help. We want to make the situation better, offer advice, or remind them that everything will be okay. While these responses usually come from a place of love and support, they do not always make someone feel truly understood.
One of the most powerful ways to support another person is through emotional validation. Validation helps people feel heard, accepted, and supported without judgment. It creates emotional safety and strengthens relationships by showing others that their feelings matter.
